In the late 1970s, Dr. Avery Jenkins left his boyhood home in Ohio to work in the mountains of New Hampshire, beginning a love affair with the woods of New England that continues to this day.
Since then, Dr. Jenkins has followed a winding path, first as an award-winning journalist in Boston, and currently as a chiropractic physician in Litchfield, Conn. Dark River is his debut novel.
Along the way he has been a member of a SCUBA search & recovery team, worked on coffeehouse sound crews, and bicycled his way through Scotland and Tasmania.
Since 1989, Dr. Jenkins has trained in the martial art of aikido and currently holds 2nd Dan rank in the United States Aikido Federation. He is also completing his training to become an ordained Taoist priest with the Dragon Gate sect of the Complete Reality School of Taoism.
He lives in Litchfield with his wife and two dogs of uncertain temperament.
